In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the Terms and Conditions of Use and any terms, rules, policies or guidelines posted elsewhere (and, to the extent applicable, all other terms and conditions made available to you (in any manner or form) in connection with any products or services purchased from MRC-Holland), this Terms and Conditions of Use shall be the governing terms.
Limited Warranty
Thank you for purchasing SALSA® MLPA® kits and/or SALSA® reagents for MLPA® analysis of nucleic acid sam-ples. MRC-Holland B.V. (herein after called MRC-Holland) is committed to providing its customers with high quality goods and services. If you have any questions about MRC-Holland’s products or service, please contact us at info@mlpa.com.
SALSA® MLPA® kits are designed to detect copy number changes of the sequences detected by the SALSA MLPA probes. The location of the detected sequences are listed in the product descriptions. The complete sequences detected by the probes are available on request: info@mlpa.com. The informative output of a SALSA® MLPA® product is restricted to the sequences detected by the probes included in that product. Copy number changes may still exist in regions outside of the probe’s recognition sequence. Furthermore, unless explicitly stated otherwise, MLPA probes are not designed to detect mutations.
Heterozygous deletions of autosomal probe recognition sequences usually result in a 35-50% reduced relative peak area of the amplification product of that probe. However, mutations and/or polymorphisms in the detected sequence may also result in a reduced relative peak area. Secondly, impurities in the nucleic acid sample can affect the polymerase activity and/or denaturation of the sample DNA, either of which can in turn affect the relative peak area of a probe. Thirdly, errors made in the MLPA reaction, MLPA fragment separation and/or analysis performed may lead to wrong estimations about copy numbers present. For these reasons, apparent copy number changes detected by MLPA® always require confirmation by other methods.
For most MLPA products, MRC-Holland does not have information on which percentage of defects in the target genes is caused by deletions and/or duplications. For most applications, the major cause of genetic defects will be small (point) mutations, most of which will not be detected by SALSA® MLPA® kits. MLPA® will also not detect most inversions, nor copy number changes outside the sequence detected by the SALSA® MLPA® probes.
MRC-Holland will replace, at no charge, any product that does not meet specifications. This warranty limits the liability of MRC-Holland to only the cost of the product. This warranty is limited to one year after purchase of the products. No warranty is granted for products beyond their “best used before” date. Furthermore, this warranty is not applicable unless all product components are stored in accordance with the instructions provided.
